General Remarks Site The Quatro Islands are offshore the central west coast of Leyte, at about half an hour by banka from the Leyte coast and 3 1/2 hours from Mactan. They are beautiful Island with a fishermen population. All are flat except Himuquitan which has a small mountain. We dived along the south coasts of Apit, Himuquitan and Didgo Islands.
Facilities for Divers None.
Type of Bottom Himuquitan has spectacular drop-offs and great coral, soft and hard, in the shallows, especially in the sanctuary along the west coast. Many caves. The other Islands have superb shallows with white sand and small drop-offs to about 25 m deep.
Marine Life Not extremely rich in invertebrates and other small marine life. Reasonable in fish. All in all not the richest places seen.
Visibility Very clear: 20 to 40 m. Keep your breath along the drop-offs from Himuquitan.
Currents Moderate.
Level Beginners and recreational when accompanied - for currents betweent the tides.
